Mauritius' health warnings policy came into effect in 2007, and was revised in 2009. Health warnings are required to cover 60% of the front and 70% of the back of all cigarette packages, meaning 65% of the overall package space is appropriated to health warnings. Each side of the principle display surface has text written in either French or Creole. Eight warnings are rotated on cigarette packages.
